There was a book written in 1896 called In His Steps By Charles M. Sheldon. The plot is simple. A fancy church is confronted with a man from the streets who offers them a good chastening for being snobs and promptly dies, causing the church to rethink it's existence. Several church members make a vow to ask the question, "What would Jesus do?" It spawned the WWJD (What Would Jesus Do) craze of bracelets, toys, binders, etc. This is simply another question.
They tell me there's a city
Beyond these old ruins
Built by the hands of heaven
Built for the coming sons
And all around me this world is falling
Someone wants to do you harm
And I have this simple question
Who would Jesus bomb?
They tell me to turn the other cheek
I have and been knocked down
But I still believe in forgiveness
Even when it don't always come back around
But I'm trouble in my spirit
And my agony reads like a psalm
I can't seem to firgure out
Who would Jesus bomb?
There's a time to fight and surrender
A time to live and to die
There's a time for joy to overflow
There's a time when we should cry
I've seen the marching soilders
From the pleasure of my living room
And the ones who kill the innocent
Before their time is due
There's a voice a cry in the wilderness
And the promise of a kingdom to come
When the prince of peace will rule
From his eternal throne
